Virtualize

I won't talk about losing this time. I had been playing around with virtualization and having tried VirtualBox and having run into a blank wall about something, I decided to give Vmware a try. I had downloaded an vmware appliance (Wordpress MU) before and was stumped after I had installed it on vmware player because I could not make it to work after the initial screen went out. I was taken to another site and I didn't know what to do next so I figured, I should get the appliance that I really needed for what I wanted to do. Having found an Ubuntu appliance, I proceeded to download it which took forever and did not finish because I started having connection problems. The plan was to download a LAMP appliance and add Wordpress later. A simple plan and a good one I thought but the time it took to download was something that was no fun at all and it made me change my mind about appliances. If this was going to be what it was like to download appliances, I might as well try making my own vm.

With an online vm creator which uses Qemu, I made a few empty vms. Problem was, I could not get any OS installed because the vmplayer would not accept the keystrokes which was supposed to allow one to install an operating system. Bummer.

I decided it was time to register for an evaluation copy of VMware Workstation.

Anyway, here's Cagayan de Oro City with another one: Cagayan de Oro City. My Cebu City site has made pr1, surprise, surprise. Dumaguete is still in the boondocks as far as Google goes but Dumaguete has made some headway.

There's A Monkey In My Brain

Today, I sat in meditation, trying to sort out the mess that I have put myself into and the realization came that there is a monkey in my brain, a fool that is messing my life up. This might sound strange or foolish or weird but in reality, this is very commonplace. Inside us are a number of thoughts and forces and energies vying for control over the great resources that we have and a number of these thoughts or forces are monkey-like in nature.

These thoughts masquerade as good, honest thoughts and fool us into thinking that they are wonderful and lull us into the false sense that we are good people. Some of these thoughts are sad thoughts, whining thoughts, oppressed, tragic thoughts that thrive on negativity. This is how we gravitate towards actions and decisions that have the effect or result of making us feel sad or oppressed or tragic, etc. It is a cycle which we are powerless to break due to the fact that we invest these thoughts with the full power of our pesonality.
